Introduction
This programme targets the youth in the State for taking up challenges in specialized areas which are relevant to the State. Any youth below 30 years of age and a permanent resident of Kerala can apply. Challenge areas will be identified and posted before the youth. Youth can submit proposals on these areas only through the portal. Generally up to 10 best proposals will be provided maximum ₹5 lakhs grant for developing the prototype/working model. After proto development, the best Innovation among them will be awarded with ₹ 50 lakhs, along with technical support/guidance in developing the technology based on the proposal.

Project Proposals will be invited through notification in the website, once in a year, generally during January. Applicants can submit the proposals and relevant documents only in the portal www.ycpkerala.org.

Introduction
Intellectual Property Rights Information Centre Kerala (IPRIC-K)’ established vide Govt. Order (No.5/2018/S&TD, dated 29.11.2018) is the Nodal Agency of the Kerala State for all the Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) related services and matters. IPRIC-Kis the Advisory Centre for Government of Kerala on all the IPR related matters. IPRIC-Kcaters to the various IP needs of Scientists, Researchers, Academicians, Professionals, Industrialists, Entrepreneurs, R&D/Academic Institutions, Organizations, Govt./University Department, Startups, Policy makers, Grass root Innovators, etc, in the State. IPRIC-Khas been in the forefront in creating awareness about IPR in the State. The activities of the Centre encompass assisting individual Inventors/ Institutions/Organizations/Departments/Startups/ MSMEs in protecting their inventions and creative works through appropriate form of IPR, inculcating IPR culture among the scientific community, providing advice and technical inputs to State Government on IPR related issues, framing Govt. policies/rules on IPR matters, etc. All Departments, Organizations, Institutions, Enterprises in the State can approach IPRIC-Kfor advices/services on IPR related matters. The ultimate goal of IPRIC-Kis to increase the IP output of the State.

Introduction
Rural Innovators Meet (RIM) is an annual programme of innovators for encouraging and promoting the unorganized rural and grass root innovators engaged in the development of rural technologies. Rural technologies are technologies developed by/ arising from the rural sector or has direct applications to the rural sector, which can be upgraded and perfected for wider applications and employment generations in the rural sector. The programme provides a platform for the rural innovators to exhibit/demonstrate their innovations/products and also to interact with the Scientists and fellow innovators. During the programme, innovators are given technical inputs on various issues including marketing methods/techniques, IPR issues, micro financing, etc. They are also given opportunity to discuss their problems and challenged with the experts. Attractive prizes are given to the best innovations contested in RIM.
Procedure for Application
Applications for participation in RIM are invited through notificationin the website once in a year, generally during July. Grass root Innovators, Individuals and Students can submit the applications. Projects selected by the Screening Committee can be exhibited in RIM.

Rural technologies are technologies developed by/ arising from the rural sector or has direct applications to the rural sector, which can be upgraded and perfected for wider applications and employment generations in the rural sector. The scheme Rural Technology Programme is instituted to encourage and promote rural and grass root innovations by providing financial assistance and technical support to develop traditional/rural technologies or upgrade the existing technologies so that it could be perfected for wider applications and employment generations and to reduce the drudgery of the rural households. This scheme supports the grass root innovators in developing and perfecting their innovative ideas in rural technology sector. Based on the recommendations of the Technical Committee for RTP (TC-RTP), maximum financial grant up to Rs. 4 lakhs will be provided for the projects for duration of 2 years.

Introduction
Technology Development and Adaptation Programme (TDAP) is instituted by KSCSTE to provide catalytic support for developing innovative and need-based technologies, upgradation of existing technologies, resulting in a product and preferably ending with demonstration in commercial environment. Based on the recommendations of the Technical Committee for TDAP (TC-TDAP), maximum financial grant up to Rs.25 lakhs will be provided for the selected projects for duration of 2 years.

In cases where the PI is a medical professional, the Co-PI shall compulsorily be a faculty of an engineering institution or a scientist of an R&D institute and the tie-up institution shall be either an engineering college or an R&D institute.

Introduction
Technology Festival (TECHFEST), is an annual technical programme for encouraging and promoting the innovations from Engineering Students in the State. The Programme is a mega technological event which showcases the technological innovations/inventions developed by the Engineering Students in the State. The Programme provides an opportunity for the talented engineering students to exhibit/demonstrate their innovative products. Industry sponsored tech-fun events are also arranged as part of TECHFEST.
Procedure for Application
Applications for participation in TECHFEST are invited once in a year usually in August – October. Students can submit the applications in the prescribed format through the Head of the Institution. Selection of projects under the ‘Contest’ category and ‘Exhibition’ category of TECHFEST will be made by the Screening Committee.

Eligibility

Introduction
KSCSTE has instituted this scheme, Engineering Support & Co-ordinated Research for Specially Talented children (ESCORT), to provide engineering and technological interventions to nurture and provide necessary support for the differentially abled children in Kerala. Students with impairment are likely to have more problems and difficulties in sensory, cognitive and psychiatric areas and also suffering in physical strength and other health-related challenges. The scheme support projects to carryout research in the area of Technological Aspects in disability studies and provide necessary engineering oriented technical interventions to develop implements to aid and assist physically or mentally challenged children. Based on the recommendations of the Programme Advisory Committee (PAC), research grant will be provided to the selected projects for a maximum duration of 2 years.

Project Proposals will be invited through notification in the website of KSCSTE, once in a year. The Proposals can be submitted through online only on notification and during the active time. Proposals submitted in any other mode will not be considered and summarily rejected.

Faculties of Engineering Colleges and Scientists from Research Institutions/Research Laboratories can apply under the scheme. The scheme supports research projects in any of the identified domain themes/sub themes which will be notified from time to time. Based on the recommendations of the Programme Advisory Committee (PAC-ETP), maximum research grant of Rs.30 lakh will be provided to the selected projects for a maximum duration of 3 years.

Implementing Institution is eligible for an overhead @ 10% of total expenditure subject to a ceiling of Rs.1 lakh, on successful completion of the project and after settlement of the SE & UC.
Eligibility
- Principal Investigator (PI) shall be a regular Faculty of Research Centres/Scientists in R&D Institutions, Engineering Departments of Universities, Government/ Aided/ Govt. supported (cost sharing) Engineering Colleges in the Kerala State.
- The PI shall have more than five years of service period left for superannuation at the time of submission of project proposal.
- Ph.D. in Engineering is essential for the Principal Investigator (PI).
- There shall be a Co-I from the same Institution of PI.
- Co-Investigator (Co-I), shall be at least a Master’s Degree holder in the relevant research field.
- There can be more than one Co-I for Inter-disciplinary research projects.
- Only regular faculty can apply under the scheme as PI / Co-I.
- Research Scholars/students cannot apply and cannot be included under the scheme.
- In the case of research proposals from Centrally funded Institutions, it is desirable that there may be a State Institution as collaborator.
- For interdisciplinary subjects, at least one of the Co-Investigators should be an Expert with commendable experience in the specialized filed of Engineering.
