About me

Dr. C. Anilkumar holds an M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Botany from the University of Kerala and has over 12 years of research experience in coastal ecology and seaweed taxonomy, during which he published 22 research papers and reported five new algal species of economic importance.In addition to his research career, Dr.Anilkumar has over 14 years of experience in science management, overseeing several flagship programmes and schemes of KSCSTE, Kerala State Biodiversity Board, and Kerala Biotechnology Commission. He has also coordinating student-centric initiatives such as SPYTiS, CRYSTAL, Science Education Centre, and Science Media Support programmes.

Professional Experience/ Academic Positions:

  • As a researcher, I have twelve years of experience in the study of the coastal ecology and environment of the seaweeds of India and I could publish Twenty-two research papers in the field of ecology and taxonomy of Seaweeds. Reported five new algal species of high economic value and a number of new Indian reports.
  • Fourteen years experience in science management in various schemes and programmes of KSCSTE, Kerala State Biodiversity Board and Kerala Biotechnology Commission.
  • Member Convenor of the 24th Kerala Science Congress (2012)
